How I GO Further

At long last, I can now pursue my PASSION of serving the poor and the helpless. I have currently collected and contributed more than 230 units of toilets to SSF (Sao Sary foundation) in Cambodia.

We can give only so much in charity to help. Wouldn't it be better if we teach them how to fish instead of fishing for them?. I am embarking on a mega project (in the eyes of SSF) that is to help them start a self sustain business by running a cafe plus B&B Guesthouse. This will generates income for them. It will also serve as a training ground for the children on entrepreneurship. The children are the future of the country. Let us help them by teaching them how to fish.

HOW THIS BUSINESS WILL HELP SSF.

  1. Provide skills to the older children at the center.
  2. Provide employment to the poor community.
  3. Generate at least 60% of their own funds.
  4. Provide a proper environment for conducting of tuition classes.
  5. Provide a way to generate their own funds to start a cottage industry like the toilet and water filter mold manufacturing.
  6. Reduce the cost of toilet and water filter because they can make their own mold instead of purchasing from others.
  7. To provide a bigger center to catered to orphans, abused children, raped victims (they can be as young as 4 yrs of age).
  8. To fund education fees so that the children can attend school.

New ideas to churn in funds on their own.

  1. Pro-photographer to take shots of Cambodian daily life and then convert the pics into postcards for them to sell at the Guesthouse.
  2. 2 of their kids are good at computer and can format programs, :- They can conduct computer learning/tuition center for the affordable in that area. They have a few schools around. They can also earn extra income by charging a fee of 15 USD per month from each student. With the guesthouse, they will have a proper training room.
  3. All volunteers and visitor can stay at the Guesthouse instead of another..the funds will help them to be on their way to fund other projects.
  4. With the profit, they can buy molds to make their own toilet rings...in future the cost of the toilets will be lower and made much more affordable to the community.
  5. Workshop on "Organic Soap making" for the center. They can then use it, sell it to the community or even sell it to the visitors at their center. This will generate income.

Please help them on this road to FINANCIAL FREEDOM, with this business in place...they can be at least 60% running on their own generated funds. Your contribution will be treasured and mark in their HALL OF FAME. As a token of appreciation, I am working with a pro-photographer to have all photos of contributors be complied and design into a piece of art. These memorable pieces of arts will be decorated in the Guesthouse and Cafe.

Lastly thank you for the time taken to read this project. Bring it on! Give me the challenge.

Thank you

about my project

Preventing Human Trafficking in Cambodia

Cambodia is recovering from decades of war and human trafficking is a great threat. Their idea? Stop it before it starts by giving people a sustainable source of income with clean water wells that fuel thriving farms.

Water is a crucial commodity to life. The Wells of Opportunity project provides clean water to rural Cambodians in the Kampong Speu province to provide economic independence and improve health. The project also aims to limit the financial burdens resulting from water access that ultimately cause families to engage in desperate behaviors such as trafficking themselves or their children.
