More Information About this Project
needs and beneficiaries
Since recovering from decades of turmoil, genocide, and civil war, Cambodia now faces new challenges. For the poor, education, vocational training, and employment opportunities do not meet the minimum needs of the people. For vulnerable families, illegal sex trafficking is forcing children to grow up much faster than they should. The most likely culprit? Clean drinking water. With water being the most important resource in Cambodia’s rural areas, people struggle to access clean water often paying hefty fees for local families or authorities to transport the water to them. This adds to the financial burdens that ultimately cause families to engage in desperate behaviors, like trafficking themselves, or their children. With proper education, guidance, and the means to support themselves economically, the families supported by this project will finally look towards a brighter future.
